Whether Jared Lee Loughner was inspired by right wing ideology is unknown. However, we do know the right wing promotes the use of guns, threats and hate as political tools. They have attempted to normalize radical militancy within our political discourse. With tea party politicians like Jesse Kelly, staging events offering the chance to shoot military-grade assault rifles as motivation to "remove Giffords from office" and other tea party candidates suggesting "2nd Amendment remedies" to achieve their political ambitions, it's easy to see why many are thinking tea party right now. Even if a direct connection between Loughner and the right is never found - the point is - it's a recipe for disaster to promote hate, violent threats, and guns as political solutions.
